Livingstone Class - Year 5

Livingstone is a Year 5 class and the teacher is Miss Turk.

Welcome to Livingstone Class!

In Year 5, we work hard to create purposeful and memorable learning opportunities, developing our confidence, independence and resilience as learners and beyond. We create a supportive and welcoming environment, where children are encouraged to foster positive relationships with those around them.

Our classroom is a happy, respectful and safe space, children are supported in asking questions, engaging in rich discussions and beginning to take more responsibility for their own learning journey, in preparation for their move into Year 6.

Home Learning

CGP Books:

In Year 5, the children are sent home with weekly pages from their CGP books (2 pages for Maths, 2 pages for SPaG).

These books are to be returned on Wednesday, with new pages being set on Friday.

Spellings:

Children are taught 10 spelling words each Wednesday, to be tested the following Wednesday.

To find which spelling words the children will be tested on each week, please visit our UKS2 page.

Reading:

Children should be reading at least 3 times per week. Please log your child's reading on Boomreader.

Times Tables Rock Stars:

Children are set 2x 10 minute sessions on TTRS per week. Please ensure your child is completing these sessions regularly to maintain their quick recall of multiplication facts.

Class Updates

Autumn Update:

What a jam-packed start to the year we have had!

I have absolutely loved seeing the children's creative home learning for our History and Geography topics. Thank you so much for your engagement at home, it's wonderful to see the children coming to school with so much enthusiasm and knowledge for what we are learning about.

We have lots to look forward to throughout the rest of Autumn including: our trip to the pantomime, Christmas craft morning and our preparation for the Christmas Carol Concert. Let's have a fantastic end to Autumn 2!
